Herbal laxative for short term use for constipation
We use the term constipation if people have bowel movements less frequently than three times a week.
- Organic disorders
- too little liquid
- taking certain drugs
- lack of movement
- too little supply of fiber
First clarify the cause and then support intestinal activity. Laxatives should only be taken for short periods. In the long term it can adversely affect the body's mineral and liquid balance.
The herbal laxative Legapas® Tabletten has a two-fold effect on the digestive tract:
- increased delivery of salts and water into the bowel
- decreased return of these substances from the bowel to the body
This results in:
- an increase in the volume of bowel content
- increase in filling pressure
- stimulation of evacuation
- stimulation of peristalsis
Adults and children aged over 12
take 1 to 1 1/2 film tablets once a day in the morning or evening.
The maximum daily dose of hydroxyanthracene derivatives is 30 mg.
This is equal to 1 1/2 film tablets of LEGAPAS®. The individually correct dosage is the lowest required to produce soft feces.
Takes effect after approx. 8-12 hours.
Do not take the laxative for longer than 1-2 weeks or at higher doses.
Aged 12 or above, contains lactose, sugar-free, gluten-free

Dry extract of cascara bark, equal to 57-108 mg equal to 20 mg of hydroxyanthracene derivatives as cascaroside A.
(extraction agent: ethanol 52% m/m). Contains lactose.
Active substance: Cascara bark dry extract. Indications: For short-term use in the event of constipation. Consult a doctor if constipation lasts over 1 week. Contains lactose.
