A healthy gut – because well-being and health start in the intestinal mucosa

We can all do a lot ourselves to ensure a healthy intestinal mucosa: A balanced diet that is high in fibre, fruits and vegetables, but low in sugar and fat, is the first step. Also, make sure you drink enough, at least 2 litres a day. Sufficient exercise, preferably in the fresh air, and relaxation for the mind and body are also important building blocks.

The intestinal ecosystem – strong but sensitive

What can bring the health of the intestinal mucosa out of balance?

  • permanent stress – physical and psychological – which weakens the immune system and leads to chronic inflammation  of our intestinal mucosa a.o.
  • unhealthy eating habits – too much, too fast, too fatty, too late, insufficient intervals between meals
  • lack of exercise
  • Drugs, especially antibiotics, that attack not only pathogens but also healthy bacteria and thus the protective layer of the intestinal mucosa

A symbiosis out of balance

How can a disrupted protective layer manifest?

  • Gastrointestinal symptoms – bloating, diarrhoea or constipation
  • Damage to the intestinal mucosa
  • Food intolerances

With biotin

Biotin is also commonly called vitamin H or vitamin B7. Like the other vitamins in the B group, biotin is water-soluble. It is not stored in the body in greater amounts and should therefore be supplied daily. Among other things, biotin serves to maintain a normal intestinal mucosa. Biotin is found in foods such as dry yeast (200 μg in 100 g), beef liver (103 μg/100 g), egg yolks (50 μg/100 g), or oats (20 μg/100 g). Our new dietary supplement, Pascoflorin, contains 25 μg biotin in one capsule. This is 50% of the recommended daily amount; with 2 capsules, you consume 100% of the recommended daily amount.

  • Bifidobacterium bifidum
