As a result of the events in recent weeks in regard to celandine, more and more customers are demanding stomach drops in pharmacies that do not contain celandine. Background to the celandine discussion
Swissmedic, the Swiss Agency for Therapeutic Products, has ordered adaptation of the drug information for a herbal gastrointestinal drug containing celandine. How do the components of Pascoventral® act?
In principal the following applies: Peppermint, caraway and chamomile are tried and tested medicinal plants for digestive disorders with mild cramps, flatulence and a feeling of fullness.
- Peppermint leaf extract acts directly on the smooth muscles of the digestive tract, has an antispasmodic, anti-flatulent effect and brings about an increase in bile production, supporting the digestion of fats.
- Chamomile extract inhibits inflammation of the gastrointestinal mucosa and protects it, acting to promote wound healing and eliminate cramps.
- Caraway fruit extract has a calming effect on the stomach and also acts to eliminate cramps, combat microbes and increase gastric juice secretion.
