Prostate symptoms - Pass urine freely again

What is the prostate gland and what function does it perform in men?

The prostate is a gland in men and male mammals surrounding the upper region of the urethra close to the bladder. It produces part of the fluid which is secreted via the urethra during ejaculation. The fluid facilitates sperm mobility, makes ejaculation less viscous and boosts sperm cell survival rates in the acidic vaginal environment.

What problems does the prostate gland cause and why?
Prostate cells begin to multiply at as early as the age of 30, the prostate gland expands and restricts the surrounding urethra. This starts to be felt as:

  • Nighttime urination
  • Urinary retention or diminished urinary stream
  • At the same time increased bladder discharge pressure

Who gets these problems?
Many men already feel the effects of prostate growth in their 50's. Fifties. Every 2nd man aged 60 is affected. In the 9th decade of life approx. 90%.

Benign or malignant?
The growth of the prostate gland and accompanying symptoms is a normal sign of aging. It is problematic that the symptoms noticed by sufferers cannot be so easily distinguished from those of a prostate tumor. Regular visits to a doctor (urologist) are therefore required.

Are there any natural remedies for prostate symptoms?
Consult your physician or alternative practitioner. Natural medicine provides good support especially if symptoms are lighter. Saw palmetto (Sabal serrulatum) has proven particularly effective. It is one of the 4 herbal constituents of URO PASC® tablets.
